Healthy Central Florida’s Walk n’ Roll to School Surpasses Goal

Are you part of the MOVEment in our schools?

In May, students, staff, and families — all supported by Healthy Central Florida– broke active transportation to school records for our ten schools.  October’s International Walk to School Day regularly draws the best bike/ped participation for the entire school year, but this year, May’s National Bike to School Day surpassed the October tally (1,832) AND broke Healthy Central Florida’s 2,000 participant goal.  Healthy Central Florida has been aiming for this goal for five years!

2,008 Walk n’ Rollers commuted to our ten Healthy Central Florida schools on May 10th!

It gets better. Not only did the Healthy Central Florida promoted events show an increase, their typical, non-event school day Walk n’ Roll participation also improved.

Healthy Central Florida has seen a 9% increase in non-event day Walk n’ Rollers over their baseline tally.

In March, they tallied 1,562 bike/ped students and 1,433 in October.

This Walk n’ Roll MOVEment is happening because of your dedication to a safe and active commute to school.

Thank you Healthy Central Florida, students, staff, and families!
